Sasikumar hits out at Gnanavel Raja, says 'truth cannot remain buried under a fake apology'

It looks like the controversy around director Ameer's Paruthiveeran, which starred Karthi in the lead, and was bankrolled by producer Gnanavel Raja is not dying any time soon. Earlier in the day, Gnanavel Raja issued a statement in which he apologised to the ace director.

Gnanavel Raja's latest statement

In his latest statement, Gnanavel Raja said that the false allegations levelled against him by director Ameer have hurt him. He added that he expressed his regret if certain words spoken by him had hurt the director. It is to be noted that Gnanavel Raja marked his film debut with Paruthiveeran. He also said that he had always addressed Ameer as 'anna' (elder brother) and that he has always been close to his family.

Sasikumar hits out at Gnanavel Raja

Soon after the Thangalaan producer's statement, Sasikumar issued a statement in which he said that one cannot let truth remain buried because of a fake apology.

In the statement, Sasikumar asked, "What are the false allegations made by Ameer anna against Gnanavel Raja? "If certain words of mine had hurt Ameer anna..." says Gnanavel Raja. What are the words he is referring to? If someone insults a person deliberately and then asks for an apology, what kind of apology is that? What is Gnanavel Raja trying to tell Ameer through his latest statement? Who is the letter addressed to?"

How the Paruthiveeran controversy started again?

The Paruthiveeran controversy snowballed into a major issue when Karthi said during the audio launch of his film Japan that the makers of the film were struggling to release his maiden film Paruthiveeran and that Suriya had stepped into help. Director Ameer had said that he had pumped in money to make and release the film and had overcome many hurdles to bring the film to the theatres.
