Saswata Chatterjee’s wife shares how actor reacted to Abhishek Bachchan’s version of Bob Biswas

Bob Biswas, the cold-blooded contract killer who appears as an innocent LIC agent, has grabbed everyone’s eyeballs since the 2012 hit Kahaani. Meanwhile, the recently announced spin-off also has been making many headlines lately, due to the casting.

The mysterious every-man character was performed by Saswata Chatterjee in the Vidya-Balan starrer, for which he received much acclaim. But the spin-off film has found their new Bob in Abhishek Bachchan, which has spurred mixed reactions from the audience. 

Though everyone is excited to know Chatterjee’s reaction, a recent report in ETimes has now revealed that he probably will like it, as quoted by his wife who spoke on his behalf. Mohua Chatterjee, also added that she and Chatterjee like Abhishek’s acting and they know he has done a great job. “Let’s see how the audience accepts now,” she said.

She also took a dig at the widespread misinformation and cleared that Saswata never had any problem with Abhishek. Though she is not sure if he has seen the trailer yet due to his busy schedule, she is certain that he will like it. 

Although a major part of the audience cheered for the trailer and were excited for the movie, Abhishek’s Bob Biswas didn’t cater well to another section of audience. They wanted to see Chatterjee reprising the role which he had already immortalised. After director Sujoy Gosh revealed that he had reached out to Abhishek for the 2012 film, a lot of speculations, debates and comparisons were going on regarding the casting recently.

Bob Biswas helmed by Diya Annapurna Gosh, also features Chitrangada Singh, Paran Bandopadhyay and Tina Desai in prominent roles. The movie will premiere on December 3, 2021, on ZEE5.
