The team of the upcoming Kannada film Petromax, including lead actors Sathish Ninasam and Hariprriya, were among the early birds to resume shooting in the new post-pandemic normal, with safety standard operating protocols (SOPs) on set. The cast and crew were stationed in Mysuru at length in a bio-bubble set-up to can the film around this time last year, so much so that they were in the Palace City during Dasara. Vijaya Prasad managed to complete the film in a record 36 days and the trailer is set to be launched now.
In fact, the Petromax trailer was supposed to be released earlier, but in the aftermath of actor Sanchari Vijay’s tragic death, both Sathish and Vijaya Prasad, who were close to the former, decided to push any announcement surrounding their film to a later date. Now, they are ready to resume promotions of Petromax and have decided to release the trailer on September 20 at 11 am.
Petromax is Sathish’s first film with Vijaya Prasad, while for Hariprriya it marks a second collaboration after Neerdose. This is Sathish's first film with Hariprriya as well. The film is supposed to have a quirky subject revolving around four orphans and how they find affection in an older woman. Vijaya Prasad had explained the film as a fun movie that is high on emotions and concentrates on human values and wit, along with a social message. Anoop Seelin has composed the music, while Niranjan Babu is the cinematographer. The film also stars Nagabhushan, Karunya Ram, Hema Dutt and Arun in pivotal roles.
