Kannada actor Sathish Ninasam was live on social media a little while ago, something he hadn’t done in well over two years. This time around, the actor, who’s just had a release with Dear Vikram, which came out on Voot Select on June 30, decided to talk about his next, Petromax, his upcoming projects, as well as his most recent meeting with Challenging Star Darshan.
“Petromax is releasing on July 15. This is a film that will appeal to everyone who saw and liked director Vijayaprasad’s earlier Neer Dose. It has the same kind of punch and punch lines. I guarantee you that you will have a ball of a time in the theatre as the film is an absolute laugh riot. I must admit, though, that there are lines that may come across as ‘bold’, but it is in keeping with the subject of the film. I am confident that everyone will like this film, which also has Nagabhushana, Hariprriya, Karunya Ram, among other,” said the actor.
Since the pandemic, the actor has also shot for a film called Matinee, in which he is paired with Ayogya co-star Rachita Ram. The film also has his Brahmachari co-star Aditi Prabhudeva. Thereafter, he has Dasara, which has been produced by actress Sharmiela Mandre. Up next, the actor will join the set of Ashoka Blade, which is already on floors. “We are looking at shooting a period war sequence with thousands of soldiers, for which I will share screen space with a big star. This will be revealed in due course of time.
As for the decision to release Dear Vikram directly on OTT, Sathish, responding to a comment that watching it on a screen at home does not have the effect of a theatre, says that it was because he had four films ready for release, which had to be spaced out, with at least 2-3 months gap between each of them. “It made sense to bring 1 or 2 directly to OTT, and Dear Vikram seemed like a perfect fit for it,” he says.
During the live session, Sathish was asked about working with Kiccha Sudeep, to which he responded that he was game to collaborate, provided someone comes up with a script that demands the two actors together. To a comment asking him to say something about Challenging Star Darshan, Sathish said that he had run into the superstar recently at a restaurant that was hosting an exhibition of his wildlife photography. “What I saw was not an actor or a superstar; I saw a man who wants happiness for everyone,” he signed off
