We had reported recently that Sathish Ninasam's upcoming film was undergoing a title change. Previously titled 'Godhra', the thriller film is now 'Dear Vikram' and the team took to social media a short while ago to make this important announcement. Alongside, actor Sathish Ninasam also revealed that Dear Vikram will bypass theatrical release and have a direct OTT release via Voot Select. The exact release date and other details are to be announced shortly.

Godhra went on floors almost five years ago but the production and release were delayed due to myriad reasons. And just when the film was gearing for a theatrical release, the concern around the title arose. The title change comes on the back of the recent mandate shared by the censor board which advised the makers to opt for a new name for the film and avoid any potential controversy. Although the previous title of 'Godhra' made no reference to the 2002 civil riots in Gujarat and the actual place in the same state, the team felt urged to go with a safer title and with Sathish Ninasam playing Vikram in the film, 'Dear Vikram' is likely to have been the best option. Shraddha Srinath stars in the film as the female lead Nithya and the film is centered on their love story, set against the strong backdrop of politics and social change. Vasishta Simha and Achyuth Kumar are also part of the film's cast and K.S. Nandeesh has directed the film.

Sathish Ninasam, on the other hand, is currently busy filming for Ashoka Blade, a period action film directed by debutant Vishnu V. Dhondalay that he co-produces with Vardhan Hari. The film has been written by T.K. Dayanand of Bell Bottom fame and the first schedule of production has already been completed. He will also be seen in the experimental thriller Dasara (produced by Sharmiela Mandre), Matinee alongside Rachita Ram, and Vijaya Prasad's Petromax which also stars Hariprriya. Sathish Ninasam has simultaneously made his Tamil debut with Pagaivanuku Arulvai.
