A sparkling, intense trailer of Godse, a vigilante saga, starring Satyadev Kancharana and Aishwarya Lekshmi, was launched today. The film, written and directed by Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi, is produced by C Kalyan. At the trailer launch held in AMB Cinemas, Satyadev was all praise for the director and the thought behind the film.
“Whenever I meet my director Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi, I am always reminded of my physics lessons, rocks - he’s someone who remains unfettered regardless of what difficulty comes his way and deals with a calmness unique to him. He’s someone who believes in my abilities more than I do. Godse is an extension of many casual conversations we have behind the sets,” the Locked star said.
“I and Gopi get talking about everything under the sun, right from why a shopkeeper charged Rs 2 more for a cool drink to why the burger size at a bakery wasn’t as big as it was proclaimed to be. The issues may seem petty to many but they are a huge problem we conveniently ignore amidst our daily routines,” he further added.
Satyadev said Godse is a film made for the youth and it’ll make them think. “When Gopi told me the story, I was unsure if I was the right choice. For the hard-hitting questions it raises, it deserved a bigger star. However, he convinced me by saying that the honesty with which we put forward our thought is the only thing that matters.”
Lavishing praise on the female lead, he stated, “I am not exaggerating when I say that Aishwarya Lekshmi is a young Vijaya Shanti. I and Aishwarya don’t have a scene together in the film and we communicate with each other through the digital medium. She has done a fabulous job with the role.”
Requesting audiences to watch Godse in theatres, the actor said, “A lot of people told me that they regret not watching Bluff Master, my previous film with Gopi, at the theatres, when it premiered on OTT. However, when Godse is releasing in theatres on June 17, I don’t want them to miss it on the big screen when they have the chance. I thank C Kalyan and KS Rama Rao for putting this film together.”
