Saurav Das' Montu Pilot 2 is a glimpse into the dark world - see Hoichoi's announcement video

After a successful run of the first season of Montu Pilot, helmed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, Hoichoi season 5 brings you the familiar dark world of Montu Pilot 2. The popular Bengali streaming platform took to its Instagram to post a short video to announce the show formally to the fans.

Saurav Das, who played the eponymous Montu Pilot in the first season reprises his role. While the other characters, including 'Bhromor' Solanki Roy, Kanchan Mullick, Subrata Dutta and Solanki Roy, will most likely be back on the show.

The sneak-peak sees Saurav aka Montu Pilot say, “the sight of blood doesn’t scare us any more, for we are beasts of a civilized society.” Walking in a symbolically evocative, red-tinted parking lot garage, Montu Pilot goes on to say that everyone is a ‘pimp’ in the world in one or the other way. He then introduces himself a la 'Breaking the Fourth Wall' technique.

You can deduce that Montu Pilot will be back with his story, along the lines of the plot of the first season. Montu wanted to fly high as a pilot when he was a kid. He was, however, born into the red-light area of Neelkuthi, in a murky world in the underbelly of the clean city. In the first season, his mother tried and fell short of getting him out of the world. Thus, Montu ends up becoming a pimp of Neelkuthi instead of a pilot, but ironically refers to himself as ‘Montu Pilot.’ As the ferryman of escorts who has lost his mother tragically, Montu is inured to any soft feelings or love, until Bhromor enters his life.

The sneak-peak surely comes as a delight to the loyal fans of the first season. This time, the going gets more intense, dark and complex. More details on the Hoichoi original series are yet to be out.
