Although there's not much information about this new show, Scam 2010 is expected to be released by the end of 2025. The exact release date is yet to be announced. What to expect from Scam 3

The upcoming show will focus on the controversial life of Subrata Roy, the founder of Sahara Group. Scam 2010 is adapted from the book Sahara: The Untold Story, written by Tamal Bandyopadhyay. The upcoming series is expected to explore the allegations of financial misconduct raised against Subrata Roy in the early 2000s. These accusations ranged from the alleged Ponzi scheme to chit-fund manipulations.

Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story

Hansal Mehta's first Scam story chronicled the life of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker, who was involved in a massive fraud that's valued at Rs 30,000 crore. Pratik Gandhi portrayed the titular role of Harshad Mehta, and Hemant Kher portrayed his brother Ashwin Mehta, who was also accused of these fraudulent activities.

Scam 2003: The Telgi Story

Released in 2023, Hansal Mehta's series explored the rise and fall of Abdul Karim Telgi, the mastermind behind the multi-state stamp paper counterfeit scam in India. He exploited the system and bribed government officials, amassing a total worth of Rs 33,000 crore. The series is adapted from the book Telgi – A Reporter's Diary, written by Sanjay Singh.

Who was Subrata Roy?

Subrata Roy (1948-2023) was an Indian businessman and the founder of Sahara India Pariwar. Subrata Roy's career was marked by his meteoric rise and the dramatic fall, fuelled by accusations of large-scale investment frauds.

Born in Bihar, Subrata Roy took over a struggling chit-fund company, which he later transformed into the Sahara India Pariwar. By targeting small investors and focusing on India's vast rural market, he rapidly expanded his business empire. At its peak, the Saraha Group, by some accounts, became the second-largest employer in India, after Indian Railways.

How did the Sahara Group's downfall occur

Back in 2010, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) began an investigation into two Sahara companies for raising thousands of crores of money through Optionally Fully Convertible Debentures (OFVB), which was ruled to be illegal. The Supreme Court in 2012 ordered the Sahara Group to return Rs 24,000 crore that was snatched from small investors. When Subrata Roy and Sahara Group failed to comply with Supreme Court orders, he was arrested in 2014 and spent over two years in Tihar Jail.
