Netflix has released a behind the scene video from the sets of School for Good and Evil revealing the production of the film has wrapped. An adaptation of a series of fantasy books of the same name by Soman Chainani, it tells the story of best friends Agatha and Sofie.

The film directed by Paul Feig will follow the two friends as they are taken to the titular academy where girls and boys are trained to be fairytale heroes and villains. A film adaptation for Chainani’s fantasy novel series was on the cards since 2011, even before the novel’s release as studios wanted to create a movie franchise.

Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the film in 2013 but it hit roadblocks and never materialized. Netflix acquired the rights early last year and signed Fieg to helm the project. After years of waiting, the film adaptation of School of Good and Evil has completed production.

Netflix Geeked revealed the production of the much-awaited film is completed with a behind the scenes video from the set of School of Good and Evil. The news comes as an exciting one for the fans, considering they have been waiting years to see the film adaptation of Chainani’s acclaimed novels.

The film also has an ensemble cast consisting of Sofia Wylie as Agatha, Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie, Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso, Kerry Washington as Professor Clarissa Dovey and Laurence Fishburne as the Schoolmaster among others. The streaming platform has also informed that the series will premiere in 2022.

Paul Feig, who is most known for his comedy Bridesmaids, also directed the 2016’s female-fronted Ghostbusters, a reboot of the 1984 classic of the same name.
