Scoop News: Kiccha Sudeep’s fantasy action-drama Vikrant Rona to release on July 28?

It was supposed to release on February 25, but was pushed ahead as there was no clarity on 100% occupancy in theatres or how the pandemic situation would evolve in the nation and since then, there’d been no word on when Anup Bhandari’s fantasy action drama with Kiccha Sudeep in the lead would hit theatres. In early March, the team had shared a promotional tour map for Vikrant Rona. Read from top to bottom, it appeared to be the perfect guide in the run-up to the film's theatrical release with each step planned. Based on this, a teaser was expected first. But today’s announcement by Sudeep has absolutely thrilled his fans.

On March 26, Sudeep had tweeted, “Here starts the journey of #VikrantRona towards its release. Excited and Happy to share this with all you friends. 1st announcement from @anupsbhandari at 10.05am on 29th of this month.” And the first announcement turned out to be, “Here's "The Devil’s Announcement" #VikrantRonaReleaseTeaser Out On April 2nd 9:55 AM.”

Going by the promotional tour map, there will be at least nine other announcements ahead of the film’s world-wide release in five languages, three of which are surprises. The question that remained is, when will Vikrant Rona release? Will it be a mid-May release as has been rumoured, making it the next biggie from Karnataka after KGF: Chapter 2 or will it be later.

According to a source, Vikrant Rona will not be in theatres in mid-May, but will instead release on July 28. This, it is said, will avoid the peak exam season in India, and will coincide with summer breaks in most parts of the world. Official confirmation on this is still awaited.
