All the eyes are trained on August 11 on this year’s calendar. This is the day when two of the most awaited films will be clashing with each other at the box-office. These films are ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’. While the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ happens to be the sequel of the smash hit film ‘Gadar’ which starred the same leading pair, ‘OMG 2’ stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in the leading roles.
Speaking of ‘OMG 2’, even though the film is definitely one of the most awaited films of the year, recently, the film ran into rough weather after the release of its trailer. Post the trailer’s release, the film had got stuck at the censor board, reportedly because of its content, although there was no clear picture about the same. As per a recent report in Bollywood Hungama, it quoted a source stating that the main issue for the film to get stuck at the Censors was because of its plot.
The said report added that the film has tackled the subject matter of masturbation with utmost sensitivity. But the officials felt that such a topic could lead to severe backlash as the film also deals with the premise of religion and devotion. The same report also added that the reports from the Censor Board on OMG 2 are extremely encouraging.
The latest update (as per the aforementioned report) on the Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 is that, they have been asked to have 20 cuts in the film and that the Censor Board will be grading the film with ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate. It also added that, Akshay Kumar and the film’s production have been appealing for a U/A certificate from CBFC. Watch this space for developments.
