Hansal Mehta’s recently released web series on Netflix titled Scoop is gathering rave reviews and massive appreciation from critics and audiences alike. The series based on Jigna Vora’s memoir titled Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison stars Karishma Tanna as the protagonist (Jagruti Pathak) along with Harman Baweja, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Deven Bhojani among others. While it’s already known that Prosenjit Chatterjee has a special appearance in the series, not many are aware that Pratik Gandhi too has a cameo appearance in the show.

We bet a lot of the viewers may have missed Pratik’s brief appearance in a fleeting shot while watching the gripping and highly engaging show. Pratik shot to fame with his portrayal of the character of Harshad Mehta in Hansal Mehta’s previous hit directorial web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. So when Hansal asked Pratik to shoot for a cameo in Scoop, he readily obliged.

For those of you who’ve missed Pratik’s fleeting appearance, let us tell you that the Scam 1992 actor appears in episode 6, where Jagruti’s maternal uncle (essayed by Deven Bhojani) is seen distributing pamphlets to the passers-by. Talking about Pratik’s blink-and-miss cameo, Hansal told ETimes that it was when they were shooting at a location in the Kandivali area of Mumbai that he called up Pratik and asked him to drop by at the location.

Since Pratik lives in a nearby lane, he didn’t waste any time in arriving at the shoot location. Hansal was quoted by the publication as saying, “He came cycling to the location. We chatted. Out of the blue I asked him if he’d do a small passing shot. He agreed without blinking an eyelid.”

The ace director also added that he considers Pratik his lucky mascot so he thought he must have him somewhere in the show. With the kind of appreciation Scoop has been getting, looks like the lucky mascot did bring in some good luck!

Directed by Hansal Mehta, Scoop is currently streaming on Netflix.
