Update your knowledge of slasher films and sharpen your knives, ghostface is all set to make a comeback soon enough. Scream 5 has released a brand new motion poster, one that teases the iconic killer’s victims, or his mysterious identity.

The poster features the well known blade that serves as ghostface’s weapon of choice. In the glittering reflection of the curved blade, the faces of the upcoming film’s cast are seen signalling either the killer’s new victims or one among them being the killer themselves. The poster also features some quotes from the characters, related to the gruesome murders and how to survive them.

The upcoming slasher film will mark the fifth installment in the Scream film franchise. The films follow the serial killer ghostface, whose identity has been assumed by different people in each film, as they torment protagonist Sidney Prescott. The killers taunt and torment Prescott by killing those close to her, but she manages to evade their attempts at her life in each film. The first film was released in 1996.

Scream 5 will feature Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Roger L. Jackson and David Arquette reprising their roles from the franchise.

Scream 5 is scheduled to be released on January 14, 2022
