It has been revealed that the second instalment of the acclaimed HBO satirical series The White Lotus, will be set in Sicily, Italy.

A source close to the show confirmed with Variety that Season 2 of the Mike White-created show will be shot at Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in the Sicilian resort town of Taormina. The first season of The White Lotus took place at Four Seasons Resort Maui in Hawaii.

There has been no official confirmation from HBO on this development.

This time, the show will feature Aubrey Plaza as Harper Spiller, a woman who is on vacation with her husband and friends. Joining her is The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli as Dominic Di Grasso, who arrives at the White Lotus resort with his elderly father and son.

Other cast members are F Murray Abraham, Tom Hollander, Adam DiMarco and Haley Lu Richardson. It has also been reported that Season 1 actor Jennifer Coolidge, who played the wealthy heiress Tanya Mcquoid, will also feature in the show.

The White Lotus satirised the lives of wealthy vacationers and their eccentricities, and, with humour, shed light on how often they are unaware of their privilege.

The first season of the show is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
