The second poster of Mathew Thomas’s upcoming film Cup has been unveiled by the makers. The film is produced by Allwin Antony and Angelena Mary, in association with Alphonse Puthran, under the banner of Ananya Films. Sanju V Samuel is directing the film, penned by Akhilesh Latharaj and Denson Durom.
Along with other actors from the film, Mathew is seen clutching a badminton bat in the poster. The story of Cup centres on 16-year-old Nidhin from Vellathuval village, who wants to play badminton professionally.
Nidhin's father, Babu, is portrayed by Guru Somasundaram, and Thushara Pillai plays the mother. Nidhin's sister is played by Mrinalini Susan George. Basil Joseph is playing Raneesh, a friend of Nidhin. Actress Namitha Pramod and Karthik Vishnu will also be seen in prominent roles. Anikha Surendran and debutant Riya Shibu will act as female leads in this movie, which is expected to be a feel-good one.
Anand Roshan, Santhosh Keezhatoor, Nandini Gopalakrishnan, I V Junais, Altaf Manaf, Mridul Pachu, Ranjith Rajan, Chembil Ashokan, Alvin John Antony, Nandu Poduval, and Anandritha Manu are part of the supporting cast.

The film will have six songs composed by Shaan Rahman and penned by Manu Manjith and Arsi. The reprised version of an old song will also be included in this movie. Magic Frames is distributing the film, which is expected to release in early 2024.
Mathew Thomas had a busy 2023 with Christy, Neymar, and Journey of Love 18+. He also made his debut in Tamil films with Vijay’s box office hit Leo this year. Mathew played the actor’s son in the action thriller movie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He will also act in a lead role in Dhanush’s next directorial, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, in Tamil.
Anikha Surendran was recently seen in King of Kotha playing Dulquer Salmaan’s sister. She is also acting in Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. Her upcoming movies are Karthikalyani in Malayalam and Vasuvin Garbinigal in Tamil.
