Seerat Kapoor comes on board for the sequel of this Telugu OTT original

Seerat Kapoor won many hearts with her portrayal of Priya in her Telugu debut Run Raja Run alongside Sharwanand. She went onto make a mark in the industry with several credible projects, including VI Anand’s Tiger, Okka Kshanam and shared screenspace opposite stars Ravi Teja and Siddu Jonnalagadda in films like Touch Chesi Chudu, Krishna and his Leela and Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma.

After a brief sabbatical from Telugu cinema (she last acted in Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma in 2020), she is back in action with Bhamakalapam 2. Noted OTT platform aha had come up with a thriller comedy titled Bhamakalapam, headlined by Priyamani, which earned reasonable reviews upon release and was widely watched by audiences across the globe.

While Priyamani herself confirmed that Bhamakalapam 2 (to stream on aha later this year) went on floors in Hyderabad recently, the lineup gets all the more interesting and bigger with the presence of Seerat Kapoor. While posing inside her vanity fan, throwing a hint of her outfit for the scene, the actress wrote, “In case you missed me. #bhamakalapam2 resumes.”

Earlier in 2022, Seerat forayed into the Hindi film industry and was paired opposite Tusshar Kapoor for Maarrich, produced under Tusshar Entertainment Production. In addition to Bhamakalapam 2, the actress bagged a key role in the Dil Raju production titled Aakasam Dati Vasthava. She is reuniting with her Run Raja Run for a film as well and wrapped the first schedule in London.

That’s not all, Seerat is set to make her singing debut alongside Ishaan Khan in a music video produced by Jackky Bhagnani. By all means, the actress is packed with work in the coming months. Before Bhamakalapam 2, she was part of two Telugu OTT originals - Krishna and his Leela (aha, Netflix) and Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma (aha).

Bhamakalapam 2’s prequel, Bhamakalapam, was helmed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti and also starred John Vijay, Pammi Sai and Sharanya Pradeep in key roles while Dear Comrade filmmaker Bharat Kamma was the showrunner. Will Bhamakalapam 2 will be a logical continuation of the first part? How will newer characters contribute to this universe? We’ll know soon.
