Selfiee: Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's Driving License remake gets a release date in 2023

The release date for Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's movie Selfiee, which was announced in January of this year, has been set.

The movie Selfiee, which is being produced by Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames, and Cape of Good Films, is anticipated to premiere on February 24, 2023. Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha will also play significant roles in the upcoming drama-comedy.

Taran Adarsh, a film critic and industry observer, confirmed this development on his Instagram account.

He noted that Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee will hit the big screens on February 24, 2023. The official Driving Licence adaptation features Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha as the costars.

Driving License, a Malayalam movie with Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the key roles, is remade in Hindi as Selfiee. For the remake, Akshay and Emraan will now play their original parts again.

The project will be directed by filmmaker Raj Mehta. The late Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta, and Listin Stephen are responsible for producing it.

Sachy wrote the script for the original Malayalam film, which Lal Jr. directed. The storyline focused on a superstar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) who was well-known for his driving prowess but lost his licence. But when he clashes with a vehicle inspector (Suraj Venjaramoodu), who also happens to be an admirer of the actor, the situation spirals out of hand.

Meanwhile, Akshay will next be seen in Aanand L Rai's Raksha Bandhan, which features Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead. The film is slated for release on August 11, 2022. On the other hand, Emraan has Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3, in which he plays the main antagonist. The Maneesh Sharma directorial is hitting the big screens during Eid 2023.
