Selfiee: Akshay Kumar shoots a 'mast' song for the Driving License remake; shares a stylish still

Akshay Kumar is kicking off 2023 with Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi. The film, directed by Raj Mehta, is the Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film, Driving License. The actor wrapped the shoot for the film earlier this year but is back on the sets. Akshay posted a photo from the set on his social media accounts to show that he will be filming a "mast" new song.

In the photo, the actor is sporting a handsome look, wearing a multicoloured faux fur jacket and trousers with black sunglasses. Akshay is seen posing on the top of a red convertible car. He captioned his post, "My mantra for today: garmi, humidity, aur faux fur…Sab chalega, bas kaam kar, kaam kar. Shooting a mast new song for #Selfiee. The actor, along with the photo, also announced the release date of Selfiee, that is, February 24, 2022.

In the Malayalam movie Driving License, the main character, Super Star Hareendran (Prithviraj Sukumaran), is known for how well he drives and how much he loves cars. Kuruvila Joseph, who is played by Suraj Venjaramoodu, is the town's vehicle inspector. He is a devoted follower of Hareendran. Hareendran finds that his license, which is required to finish filming his most recent project, is missing. Hareendran visits Kuruvilla, his biggest admirer, to hurriedly obtain a new license.

Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty play the female leads in Selfiee, alongside Akshay and Emraan. Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Listin Stephen all produced the movies under their own labels, Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, Prithviraj Productions, and Magic Frames, respectively.

This is the first time Akshay and Emraan will be sharing screen space. The actor announced the project in January 2022 and began filming in March of this year.
