Selfiee out on OTT: When and where to watch Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's action drama online

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's Selfiee has finally dropped on OTT after its theatrical release in February this year. The film was released on Disney+ Hotstar as a midnight surprise nearly 60 days after it hit the big screens. The action drama's producer companies are Dharma Productions, Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, and Cape of Good Films, and Raj Mehta is the director. Star Studios served as the movie's distributor.

Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharuccha play supporting parts in the movie. The movie, a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, Driving Licence, centres on a conflict between an RTO inspector and a well-known actor.

In March 2022, shooting got under way. The movie premiered on February 24, 2023, in theatres. Critics gave the movie mixed to favourable reviews. Nevertheless, the movie was a colossal disaster financially, grossing just Rs. 23.63 crore. Despite the fact that advance ticket sales began late on Wednesday, Selfiee only managed to raise Rs. 40 lakhs by purchasing and selling just 8200 seats in the public multiplexes.

During its promotions, the most watched and most liked Instagram clip by an Indian celebrity included Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan dancing together to the song Main Khiladi from the movie. Akshay Kumar broke the Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in three minutes during a movie promotion event when he took 184 photos with fans in that time.

In the film, RTO employee and ardent Vijay Kumar supporter Om Prakash Agarwal is in charge of helping the Bollywood icon acquire a new driver's licence. But a miscommunication causes a verbal battle between the two that finally turns into a public fight in front of the nation's media.

This is the first time Akshay and Emraan have shared screen space. While the film marked the second outing of Akshay with Raj Mehta after Good Newwz.
