Fans of the Netflix series Sex Education were treated with a trailer for the much-awaited third season of the show yesterday. The trailer featured all of the fan-favourite characters as well as some new faces. Let's take a detailed look at the trailer, where Season 2 ended and what to expect from the new season.

How did the Season 2 of Sex Education end?

Season 2 of Sex Education was fun and lovable like the season before it. The season saw Otis Milburn start a romantic relationship with Ola Nyman and also lose his virginity. Things get a little complicated when Otis’ mother starts having feelings for Ola’s father. The season also saw Maeve getting jealous of Ola and drama unfolds.

Otis gets drunk at a party and insults both Maeve and Ola. He sends a voicemail to Maeve, sharing his real feelings for her. But the show ends in a cliffhanger that had fans throwing fits, as Maeve’s lovable neighbour Isaac deletes the voicemail from her phone while she is away.

What does the trailer for season 3 of Sex Education tell us?

The trailer for the third season hints at the show taking a time jump from where the previous season ended. The trailer also gives us a sneak peek at the lives of our favourite characters. Otis looks refreshed but has grown a moustache, which looks less than convincing. He seems to be having casual sex around school and is seen telling Eric that he does not want to know about Maeve. Eric and Adam are seen together in the trailer, and it looks like they will be making their relationship official and public. A major plot point the trailer points out is the arrival of new headteacher Hope, who looks set to take Moordale back to its former glory, while the school now seems to be getting some press after being titled as the “Sex School” by the media.

While we expect Maeve to have learnt about the voicemail, that does not seem to be the case from the trailer. The two of them look to have moved past the voicemail, clearly thinking the others’ silence means they are trying to move on. While the whole fanbase wants the two to get together, we will have to wait and see if that will happen.

What to expect from Sex Education Season 3?

It does not reveal much about what exactly is going to happen in the new season, but it is clear that we are getting another season full of refreshing characters, who have grown a little older now. We will also get some fun with the change in authority, who seem to have put their foot down on the students and their high school lifestyle.

When will the new season of Sex Education be out?

The new season of Sex Education will start streaming on Netflix from September 17.
