The second trailer of the third season of the fan-favourite series Sex Education is here and the fans are going gaga over it. The series, which became an internet sensation, is known for taking on taboo subjects. With the third season arriving, the Netflix series promises an emotional rollercoaster ride.

The trailer begins with Maeve asking Otis what was in the infamous “voicemail” which she did not get to hear. Maeve knows that Otis confessed his feelings for her but hopes to hear it from him. The scene cuts to Maeve’s voiceover saying that the “clinic” they ran which provided advice about sex have been shut as she and Otis grew apart. We also see a nervous and confused Otis contemplating hardly on whether he should confess his feelings or continue living a miserable life. The trailer also makes a comment, “If you love someone, you should tell them. Otherwise, it would be too late.” But we have to wait and watch if Otis confesses to Maeve.

The series stars Asa Butterfield as the meek and confused Otis Milburn with Emma Mackey playing Maeve Wiley, the primary female lead. There are also prominent supporting characters like Otis’s mother Jean Milburn, played by Gillian Anderson and his best friend Eric Effiong played by Ncuti Gatwa. The series explores the life and misadventures of Otis as he navigates through his school life.

The series follows Otis’s life as the son of a famous sexologist who starts an adult consultation clinic in the school with the help of Maeve. The second season ended in a cliffhanger with Jean Milburn, revealed to be pregnant and Otis and Maeve’s friendship on the rocks because of their hesitation to admit their love for each other.The third season of the series will reportedly focus on Otis and Maeve, and also the lives of the now pregnant and struggling Jean Milburn and Eric Effiong, Otis’s gay friend. Eric is currently involved in a relationship with a teenager from a conservative family.

The fans are losing patience over Otis and Maeve, wondering if they will admit their love for each other and get together. The third season is also tagged as “everything changes”, hinting at the possibility of the two getting together. The series will premiere on Netflix on September 17.
