Shaakuntalam: The Samantha-Dev Mohan starrer gets postponed, here's the latest update

Shaakuntalam is a film that Samantha had pinned a lot of hopes on. This is her first historical drama and she plays the titular role in this Gunasekhar director drama which will have a pan-India release. The film was supposed to be out on the 17th of February but sadly, the makers have postponed the release today.

The makers announced the same and revealed that the new released date will be announced soon. However, they did not reveal the reason for the postponement. The word is that as the VFX work is yet to be wrapped up, the makers have decided to postpone the film as of now.

Samantha, on the other hand, has done her part of her dubbing. The film has been made on a lavish scale by Guna Team Works and Dil Raju and they released the trailer in a very grand manner. This is Samantha's first proper Pan-India release and she had planned massive promotions for the same.

Mani Sharma has composed the music and Dev Mohan is playing the main lead. There is so much buzz for this film as Samantha has always said in all her interviews that this is one film she is looking forward to as she has a performance-oriented character. Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha makes her film debut with Shaakuntalam. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
