Shaakuntalam: The Samantha, Dev Mohan starrer to be out on April 14th

Samantha's Shaakunthalam has been in the making for a long time now. Though the film's shoot was wrapped up a long time ago, the post-production has taken a very long time. The historical drama was supposed to hit the screens on the 17th of this month but was postponed at the last minute. This disappointed both Samantha and her fans big time as they were eager to see her as a princess for the first time.

The makers even apologized for the delay and today, they surprised everyone with the new release date of the film. As per the news, Shaakuntalam will be out on the 14th of April this year. A new poster featuring Samantha in a beautiful avatar was released along with the date. This new date looks nice as it will be the summer holidays and a perfect time to watch the film.

Shaakuntalam has been directed by Guna Sekhar, who has made some iconic hits in the past. He has teamed up with Samantha for the first time and has showcased her as the famous Shakuntala. Dil Raju has co-produced this film along with Guna Team Works and the film also has Malayalam actor Dev Mohan in a key role. He is playing Sam's love interest in the film.

The songs have clicked well and very soon, Samantha will also join the promotions of the film once she wraps up her new film Khushi in the direction of Shiva Nirvana. For Shaakuntalam, Samantha has worked quite hard and has even dubbed her own voice. It is a performance-oriented film for Sam and the unit says that she has done a fab job in her crazy character.
