Shabad is set from the perspective of a young boy Ghuppi (Mihir Ahuja). He loves football and struggles with stuttering. He is born to Harminder Singh, a Ragi singer who believes that his son’s only duty is to take over the reet (tradition) of Ragi singing forward. Without realizing Ghuppi’s daily struggles with stuttering and passion for soccer, Harminder forces his son to do as told. Thus, Shabad is the journey of Ghuppi and Harminder’s complex father-son equation while trying to reach an understanding.
