Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon-starrer Birthmark gets release date in February; trailer to drop soon

Birthmark, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon in the lead roles, is set to hit theatres on February 23. The makers of the film announced this on social media recently.

The makers have also revealed that the trailer of the upcoming project will be released this evening (February 15). Birthmark will be Shabeer and Mirnaa’s second collaboration; they were last seen sharing screen space in the Telugu film Naa Saami Ranga.

All about Birthmark

Birthmark is directed by Vikram Shreedharan in his directorial debut, who will also double up as producer and back the film along with Sriram Sivaraman. The film's technical crew consists of Udhay Thangavel as the cinematographer, with Iniyavan Pandiyan handling the edits.Vishal Chandrashekhar, who has scored music for films like Sita Ramam and Oh Manapenne, will be composing for Birthmark.

The makers of Birthmark had earlier released the teaser for the film, which seems to concentrate on pregnancy and giving birth. Mirnaa plays the role of an expecting mother who is admitted to a birthing facility. While the makers have not revealed the plot of Birthmark, the film is expected to be a psychological drama. The trailer for the film, which will be unveiled later today, is expected to shed more light on the story.

Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa's body of work

Shabeen was last seen in the recently released Sankranthi film Naa Saami Ranga, starring Nagarjuna in the lead role. The actor, who works in Tamil and Malayalam films, was also seen alongside Dulquer Salmaan in King of Kotha and Trisha-starrer The Road. Shabeer Kallarakkal, often referred to as Dancing Rose Shabeer rose to fame with his portrayal of boxer Dancing Rose in Pa Ranjith's boxing drama Sarpetta Parambarai.

On the other hand, Mirnaa, too, was seen sharing screen space in Naa Saami Ranga. The upcoming young actor, in 2023, had a fantastic run, with two of her releases making a huge noise, Jailer and Burqa. While she played alongside Rajinikanth in Jailer as his daughter-in-law, in Burqa, Mirnaa's performance received a positive reception.
