Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday secured a court order to take down all the leaked videos from his upcoming movie circulating on social media. The Delhi High passed the order in favour of the petition filed by Shah Rukh Khan's home production banner Red Chillies Entertainment.
The court in its order noted that the leaked videos were causing "damage and loss" to the producers by giving away the look of the actors and music from the movie. The court directed social media platforms, including YouTube, Google, Twitter and Reddit, to remove any infringing content that violates the filmmakers' intellectual rights and to prevent any future circulation of leaked content.
This decision brings significant relief to the producers who have been consistently impacted by leaks, including revealing Shah Rukh Khan's unique appearance in Jawan . While the leaks have generated excitement among fans, the court recognised the harm caused to the filmmakers and has taken necessary steps to protect their rights. One leaked video of SRK fighting off bad guys has generated a lot of excitement among fans, showcasing the actor's charisma. Earlier, the synopsis of Jawan also surfaced online and it gave away that this movie is a vigilante action drama.
Earlier, the filmmakers had released a teaser to announce the movie's title, in which Shah Rukh Khan's character, with a scarred face and covered with a bandage, loaded up on firepower suggesting he was getting ready for an all-out war.
Jawan marks Atlee's directorial debut in Hindi. The movie also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani in the lead roles.
According to reports, Tamil superstar Vijay and Telugu superstar Allu Arjun have also played cameo roles in Jawan. However, an official confirmation from the filmmakers is awaited.
