To this SRK replied, "Bhai Tere sawaalon ka bachpana jab chala jaaye…Phir kuch acchha saa puchna! Tab tak temporary retirement mein reh please." Shah Rukh Khan won his first National Film Award at the 71st National Awards for Best Actor for his performance in the film Jawan. Reacting to the honour, SRK had posted a clip where he is seen talking about his feelings. He said that it was needless to say he is overwhelmed with gratitude, pride and humility. To be honoured with the National Award is a moment that he will cherish for a lifetime. He also thanked the jury, the chairman, the INB ministry and everyone who thought he was worthy of this honour.
Thanking the Indian government, his family, fans, team, directors and producers, the actor stated, "This award is for you, as each award is. And yeah, I would love to spread my arms for you and share my love, but I'm a bit indisposed. But don't worry, just keep the popcorn ready. I'll be back in theaters and soon on the screen. So till then, just with one hand. Ready."
