Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan was once questioned about the love he receives and the connection it has with his name. He was asked during the India Today Conclave in 2009 if he would have received the same admiration if his name was something else. What if SRK meant Shekhar Radha Krishna and whether his life and reputation as an "icon" would have changed? The actor said that he would receive the same amount of love irrespective of whether he was known as Shah Rukh Khan or Shekhar Radha Krishna. Shah Rukh added that he had never seen his religion brought up in the "great nation", India.

Shah Rukh said, “I don’t think there would be any difference (if he had a different name). I have never been made aware through my profession, or otherwise, about my religion in this wonderful country. I find it really strange when I hear this. I think artists have this tendency to transcend divisions since you don’t really consider who is from which community, or from what sect. You just like him/them or you don’t. I would still smell as sweet whatever name you call me by.”

During the same interaction, he was asked if cinema and art played a role in religion or spirituality. King Khan went on to say that he believes spirituality is a personal matter that must originate from inside. He then remarked that for him, acting is spiritual. He added, “It will be fantastic if we can do it through cinema. But if I do it through cinema, my spirituality may not work for you. It will stop being universal. But it is a good thought. The only thing is that the film won’t be a hit.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh will soon appear alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in Pathaan directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie is scheduled to release on January 25, 2023. He also has Atlee's Jawaan, which will be released on June 2, 2023. Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki is another project he has in his kitty.
