Shah Rukh Khan makes history with Jawan, achieves back-to-back all-time blockbusters, following in Raj Kapoor's footsteps

Shah Rukh Khan has recreated history with Jawan in more ways than one. While he enjoys a massive run at the Box Office, the actor also has two all-time blockbusters in a single year with Pathaan and Jawaan. With this, he has managed to become the only other Bollywood actor to achieve this feat since Raj Kapoor.

Raj Kapoor and his legacy

One of the most prominent names when it comes to Bollywood, happens to be that of Raj Kapoor. He gave fans some of the most iconic films, thus living up to the name of the Kapoors. It is to be noted that Raj’s grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor had founded the Hindi film industry and he took the legacy forward.

Back in 1949, Raj Kapoor delivered two all-time blockbusters. These were Barsaat and Andaz. Both the movies featured Raj Kapoor with Nargis. Andaz also featured Dilip Kumar as one of the male leads.

It took nearly 75 years for another actor to come close to the record and possibly even beat it. In the year 2023, Shah Rukh Khan has already given two all-time blockbusters in Pathaan and Jawan. The actor is now waiting for the release of his movie, Dunki. Being a Rajkumar Hirani directorial and their first collaboration, the hopes are high from that movie too.

Jawan beats Pathaan, Gadar 2

Jawan has managed to beat two of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Shah Rukh Khan surpassed the Box Office collections of his own previous film, Pathaan. Sunny Deol, too, had just celebrated the success of Gadar 2, when Jawan smashed all Box Office records and became the highest grossing film of the year. It is also the highest nett grossing film of all time.
