As soon as the Dunki trailer dropped, many on the Internet drew parallels from his 1995 film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Aditya Chopra directed the film, which features Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol and is considered a classic. The older version of the superstar's character wears a yellow and blue-striped T-shirt in Dunki, reminiscent of his attire in the entry sequence of DDLJ.
