Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen with Pathaan turned out to be one of the biggest comebacks in recent history. The star scripted history when recently, Pathaan became the highest grossing Hindi film ever, having raked in over Rs 400 crores at the box office. Apart from SRK’s highly anticipated return, it also saw him share the screen with another big Khan of Bollywood, Salman Khan himself. Fans have been swooning over the duo’s sequence in the film, and SRK himself recently opened up about the same.

In a statement, Shah Rukh revealed that he and Salman always wanted to act in a film together, but were waiting for the right film and script, as they were well aware that audiences’ excitement to see them on screen would be through the roof.

But that also meant that they had to make sure to deliver something great indeed, so as to not disappoint their fans. “Matlab fans ka sawaal hai, choti script pe nahi chodh sakte types!!”, he declared.

SRK opened up about the moment that producer Aditya Chopra first put forth the idea of bringing Tiger(Salman) and Pathaan(Shah Rukh), two super spies from YRF’s Spy Universe. The Badshaash of Bollywood had instantly jumped at the opportunity of doing some kick ass scenes with Salman, which he hoped most fans would have seen by now.

Shah Rukh went on to say that even though fans had to wait for a long time to see him and Salman on screen, he was happy to have made it worth their while. “Besides this it’s too much fun with Bhai on sets. I had missed being with him on screen so it all turned out as it should…and that Tiger scarf I am keeping as a momento!!”, he added.

Pathan was released on January 25, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The Siddharth Anand directorial also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
