The Romantics, a much-anticipated Netflix documentary series that pays homage to Yash Chopra and the YRF's heritage and their cultural influence on India and Indians over the past 50 years, premiered on February 14 to incredibly high praise. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, the legendary Rishi Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, and others speak up on how the Hindi cinema business has the ability to influence popular culture for India and Indians in the docuseries.

Shah Rukh believes that Hindi film is a part of our genes and that it brings happiness and love to all people. He claims, "Our cinema is as much a part of our lives in India as much as you wake up in the morning and brush your teeth. It’s just an inherent part of us. There’s beauty in the cinema that Indian filmmakers have stuck vis-a-vis music or keeping it still like a musical format."

According to Karan Johar, our movies make an effort to capture the nation's culture as vividly as possible. He claims, "We’re definitely a force to reckon with in the world as far as cinema is concerned. We’re the largest film-making country in the world. The way the West perceives Indian cinema is not about sadhus, it’s not about snake charmers, not about elephants, and cows. We have come a long way."

Rishi Kapoor is pleased with the way the Hindi film industry has promoted India abroad. He claims, "In terms of movies, we are unquestionably a world power to be reckoned with. We produce more movies than any other nation on the globe. The way Indian cinema is viewed in the West does not include sadhus, snake charmers, elephants, or cows. We have made great progress."

Abhishek Bachchan believes that Hindi cinema is genuinely distinctive. "Films that come out of India are completely unique to India, and to our ethos and our culture, and they don’t try to be like anybody else," he claims.

Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma, among others, have come together to talk about Yash Chopra and YRF's contributions to Indian cinema in The Romantics.

Smriti Mundhra, an Oscar and Emmy-nominated director who previously worked on Netflix's Indian Matchmaking and the Never Have I Ever series, is back with The Romantics.

This four-part docuseries on Netflix will also feature 35 famous people from the film industry who have worked closely with YRF over the course of its 50-year history.

It's interesting to note that Aditya Chopra, the secretive CEO of venerable Yash Raj Productions, has also taped his first on-camera interview for The Romantics! In this docuseries, his thoughts on YRF and the Hindi film industry are a major highlight for people who love movies and the Hindi film audience as a whole.

As a tribute to Yash Chopra, who is known as the "Father of Romance" in India due to his classic romantic comedies like Silsila, Lamhe, Kabhi Kabhie, Veer-Zaara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Chandni, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, etc., Netflix launched The Romantics on February 14 in honour of Valentine's Day.
