Shah Rukh Khan has been having a great year ever since he started 2023 off with a bang with his comeback movie Pathaan. After his comeback to the big screen with the Siddharth Anand-directed film, SRK has a promising 2023 schedule. His future movies Jawan and Dunki were rumoured to be coming out in June and December, respectively, according to earlier rumours. Now, though, it seems unlikely that this will occur.
Rumors that Atlee had chosen to advance the release of Jawan by a few months were circulating a few days ago. Even though there was no official confirmation, it was further reported that the movie was still shooting certain critical scenes. This leaves the producers with no alternative than to advance the release date.
According to the most recent media sources, Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki will likely be impacted by the producers' choice to postpone Jawan. According to reliable sources, Shah Rukh Khan may choose not to release Jawan in October because that would put it in direct competition with Salman Khan's Tiger 3, which is scheduled for Diwali and would have SRK's cameo as Pathaan. Moreover, SRK cannot allow Jawan to come out in October, just two months before his Dunki arrives on Christmas 2023.
A source close to the development revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “If Shah Rukh Khan brings Jawan to cinemas in October, there’s no way Dunki will release two months later. Two of the biggest films of the year, both starring the same star would obviously not release so close to each other. Hence, if Jawan is pushed to October, Dunki will be postponed to the first quarter or summer of 2024.”
The release of Jawan in October, which is just a few weeks before Tiger 3, is also tough to comprehend. The Salman Khan-starring film releases around November 10 or 13 during Diwali. Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of Pathaan is a significant part of it.
