Shah Rukh Khan has been one of the prominent faces of Yash Raj Films. From Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to Veer Zaara, the superstar has garnered unanimous love, fame and praise from across the globe and has also gathered popularity to YRF.
Meanwhile, due to Pathaan, Shah Rukh, as well as Yash Raj Films, have taken up a notch with their record-breaking success. The latest Netflix docu-series The Romantics featured more than 35 celebrities along with SRK who spoke about their first impression as well as their journey with the production giant as well as the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.
In the latest docu-series, King Khan spoke about how he fell in love with cinema and his first memories of watching a Hindi film in a cinema hall and shared that as he comes from a lower middle-class household, television was hardly existent for him. Although whenever he got the chance, he would go to his neighbours' houses during the weekend to watch the tv on that one state-owned channel called Doordarshan that showed a film every Sunday.
He also unveiled that during that time there used to be no advertisements amid the ongoing three-hour movie on television.
Moving on, the superstar added that in his younger days going to a movie theatre was big deal and people from middle-class families would only go to watch films on silver screens on big occasions. "There used to be black marketing of tickets. So, it used to be a big high (to even manage to get a ticket). I would ride back on my cycle and tell my mom - I managed! Even that was a big thing, to manage a ticket for a big release whatever,” he added.
The Romantics, which also has Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukerji, Ayushmann Khurrana and others, is available to stream on Netflix.
