Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee & Co. seem to have delivered a massive success that isn't just yielding extraordinary box office results but also uniting film buffs of all kinds from across the world. Jawan is unarguably the most talked-about topic at the moment and is likely to remain so for quite some time, amassing fans and admirers from all walks of life in its glorious pursuits.
Both Shah Rukh Khan and the film have already received a lot of love from the public including some of the biggest celebrities in the country. The latest to join this list is Indian cricketer, sports broadcaster and film aficionado, Dinesh Karthik. Fondly known as DK, the elegant right-hand batter took to social media to not just laud the efforts of writer-director Atlee and the entire team of Jawan but also share a few insights into how the film shaped over the years!
"Jawan began in 2018, when I was playing for KKR"
Of course, many would know that Dinesh Karthik played for Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and has been an integral member of the franchise. But turns out that aside from focusing on the sport, DK has also observed how Jawan began in the year 2018 and blossomed over the years following numerous discussions, script tweaks and whatnot.
"I remember when in 2018 I started with KKR and that's when Atlee had started talks with SRK and infact he came for CSK vs KKR match at Chennai. It's taken 5 long years, so many discussions, so many small script tweaks and so much has happened in this time and to put everything in perspective and bring it out so well in a proper commercial manner and to make every frame so much fun, filled with style and oomph was worth the wait!" wrote Dinesh Karthik in his latest social media post.
He would also congratulate his former KKR boss and Red Chillies Entertainment Venky Mysore on the success, before hailing Jawan actors Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi as 'pan India heroes' and composer Anirudh Ravichander as the 'rockstar' of today. He would also assert that the film would go on to become the "Highest grossing INDIAN movie ever!".
"Didn’t get to see this side of you," says Shah Rukh Khan
And fascinatingly, Dinesh Karthik's rather comprehensive post caught the attention of the man himself, Shah Rukh Khan, who responded to his tweet by saying that he wasn't aware of DK, the film buff. "Didn’t get to see this side of u during KKR times. Really happy u enjoyed the film and give my love to Dipika!!! And if u are free go watch it again after a few weeks…. Always need u as a finisher!!" wrote King Khan who is having a momentous 2023 as an actor.
