Shah Rukh Khan to Virat Kohli: Celebs lost blue tick verification; Twitter gets flooded with memes

A lot of celebrities from around the world have lost their blue tick verification on Twitter including Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga. However, this sudden change on this social media platform doesn't come as surprise as it was already announced by the new Twitter owner, Elon Musk, that all those handles will lose their blue ticks as part of their verifications if failed to pay for the subscription before April 20, 2023.

On the other hand, not all the verified Twitter accounts have lost their blue ticks, a few selective ones are still verified even without paying for the Twitter Blue subscription.

Last year, soon after Musk's takeover of the social media company, the business tycoon announced the blue tick subscription launch for all Twitter users irrespective of their status. The rule for the one-of-a-kind subscription says that as soon as the users get the subscription, they will have to verify their mobile number and post that they will automatically receive the blue tick mark on their handles.
