Shah Rukh Khan's collaboration with director Atlee titled Jawan; actor's first look revealed in intriguing teaser

After a long period of waiting and speculating, Shah Rukh Khan has broken his silence on his collaboration with Atlee (known for Mersal, Bigil, Theri). The actor took to Twitter today to announce that Jawan will be out in 2023 in multiple Indian languages.

Khan called Jawan "an explosive entertainer" and judging by both the actor and director's respective track records of delivering blockbusters that hit the spot, the audience will not be disappointed. Previously, the project was referred to as Lion.

The actor's tweet was accompanied by a minute-long teaser which revealed a broken and bruised Khan unwrapping a bloody bandage from his face. He's in a dark room, a sort of secret space, which is complete with all gadgets needed for a spy set-up. Then there are weapons, lots of weapons.

The movie is eventful not just because it marks the director-actor joining hands for the first time but also because it is Lady Superstar Nayanthara's big Bollywood debut. Jawan also stars Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles.

So far it has been reported that Khan will be seen as a gangster and as a RAW officer who is the former's father for which he will use prosthetics. 

Bollywood Hungama had previously said that Khan has also played an important role in the development of the screenplay and had suggested changes to the initial draft, which were incorporated by Atlee.

The teaser is the just tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what’s to come," said Khan in a press statement. 

Jawan is produced by Gauri Khan via Red Chillies Entertainment and will release in cinemas on June 2, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
