Shah Rukh Khan’s double treat on birthday: Pathaan teaser and DDLJ re-release for fans who missed seeing him on big screen

Shah Rukh Khan has a special surprise planned for his fans. On his birthday, November 2, SRK will be unveiling Pathaan teaser. It does not end at that, the actor will ensure the re-release of his film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The iconic film was running successfully in theatres till COVID-19 forced cinemas to be shut. Now, on his birthday, SRK is bringing the film back for those who missed seeing him on the big screen.

Interestingly, YRF is associated with both the movies. While the iconic DDLJ was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut, Pathaan is also being backed by his production house.

The makers wanted to pay an ode to SRK and they are doing so with the re-release of DDLJ in theatres, reports Bollywood Hungama. The movie was in theatres (Maratha Mandir in Mumbai) since its release in 1995, making it one of India’s most iconic films.

DDLJ came early in Shah Rukh Khan’s career. After playing an anti-hero for nearly two years, SRK was seen as a romantic hero and the role became pathbreaking for the actor. It is one of the roles that marked the milestone to him becoming the superstar he is today. It also established SRK-Kajol as one of the most iconic jodis in Bollywood.

Pathaan teaser, on the other hand, will have a digital release. Whether an event will be held for the same, remains to be seen.

The movie stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham along with SRK. The Siddharth Anand directorial is one of YRF’s spy universe and will also see Salman Khan reprise his role as Tiger in the movie.

Pathaan will release in theatres on January 25, 2023. The OTT release date and platform of the film are yet to be confirmed.
