Shah Rukh Khan made a thoughtful gesture for his Chennai Express and now Jawan co-star Priyamani. He did so for the Jawan song, Zinda Banda. SRK told Jawan director Atlee that Priyamani is his dance teacher. This is because they had worked together in 1 2 3 4 Get On The Dance Floor for Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express.

What exactly happened?

Priyamani was kept in the background for the Jawan song Zinda Banda. Shah Rukh Khan made a special request to the choreographer Shobi Master as well as director Atlee. He said that Priyamani is his dance teacher and thus, she came to the forth for the song and danced next to King Khan. This is because he said that she is his dance teacher who guides him when he forgets his steps. The actress revealed so during her interview with Connect FM Canada.

Priyamani is SRK’s dance guru

Priyamani revealed that SRK held her hand and asked her to dance next to him for the song Zinda Banda. He told Atlee and Shobi Master that he doesn’t care if he’s going wrong but would look at her and dance. SRK would further ask Priyamani to guide her about the dance steps. Not just Priyamani, SRK also insisted that Sanya would stay by his side during the song. While Sanya was to his left, Priyamani was to his right. Priyamani further revealed that SRK kept rehearsing till he got the steps right. Seeing the reels for Zinda Banda even now, she was absolutely overjoyed since the energy around the song was something she fell in love with.

The SRK-Priyamani connection

Shah Rukh Khan had worked with Priyamani in Chennai Express. They shook a leg on 1 2 3 4 Get On The Dance Floor. Back then, his Jawan co-star Nayanthara was approached to be a part of the song but it eventually went to Priyamani. Shah Rukh Khan and Priyamani were absolutely in tune in the track and the song from the Rohit Shetty directorial became a superhit. Chennai Express also remains one of SRK’s most loved films till date.
