Directed by Atlee, Jawan is set to release on September 7
Shah Rukh Khan and Raja Kumari
Ever since the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan Prevue has dropped, cinephiles seem to be anticipating yet another Pathaan-like wave gripping the nation later this year. Co-written and directed by Atlee, the actioner features ‘King Khan’ in a double role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Deepika Padukone in a cameo appearance. Set to hit the cinemas on September 7, Jawan is easily one of the most talked-about Bollywood films this year. The ‘prevue’ also features a track, called King Khan Rap, which was sung by Grammy-nominated rapper-songwriter Raja Kumari.
The high-energy number was specially penned for SRK by the singer. While a lot of love has been pouring in for the power-packed ‘prevue’, people have also appreciated lauding the film’s music. And Raja Kumari has been an integral part of it.
After watching the movie’s teaser, she couldn’t contain her excitement and penned a heart-warming note for SRK. “Thank you, Anirudh and Shah Rukh Khan for calling me to write and perform the title track! Can’t wait for the world to hear it,” she wrote on social media. Her track in Jawan further adds to the film’s excitement and appeal.
Raja Kumari is an Indian-American rapper, who is recognised for her talent and versatility. She has previously performed at popular music festivals like Coachella.
She has not only thrived in the Indian and international music arena, but has also lent her distinctive voice to some of Bollywood’s most iconic jams. Her collaboration with notable artistes like Gwen Stefani, Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony and John Legend has cemented her status as a force to be reckoned with.
The King Khan Rap, written and performed by Raja Kumari, brings an electrifying and dynamic element to the film. The rap encapsulates the essence of SRK in the film, serving as a testament to the star power of the megastar. The singer’s unique style infuses the rap with an energy that perfectly complements the grand scale of Jawan.
The plot follows a soldier, who sets out to avenge a personal vendetta against the government. He is supported by a group of women.
