Shah Rukh Khan's King 'is the closest to my heart,' says filmmaker Siddharth Anand

Siddharth Anand's King is one of the most-awaited films, and it has been grabbing attention ever since it was announced. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Abhay Verma, and others. As Siddharth Anand completed 20 years in the Hindi Film Industry, the filmmaker reminisced about his career so far and spoke about his upcoming directorial, King.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Siddharth Anand, who has 8 films under his pipeline, is currently shooting for his 9th directorial – King with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.  When asked to comment on the film, Siddharth added, “All films are really close to your heart. Whenever you are making a film, that film is closest to your heart. Right now, the film I am making is the closest to my heart.”

In King, Shah Rukh will be seen in the role of an assassin. On the other hand, his daughter Suhana, who debuted with The Archies, will reportedly be his young protégé. This film marks Suhana's first theatrical release. Earlier, speaking to The Lallantop, Jaideep Ahlawat confirmed that he is a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s King and revealed that SRK helped him get the role.

Praising King Khan, Jaideep said, “I really like him. In all my interactions with him — in the five to seven times we’ve met — starting from Raees, where I shot with him for four to five days, and even after that, whenever we met, he always made me feel like I was the closest person to him." He also called SRK a wonderful human being.
