YRF has upped its budget for Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan 2 by a fair sum

It has been a year since Shah Rukh Khan was introduced to the YRF Spy Universe with Pathaan. The makers are now planning the sequel and the budget for the same is reportedly decided upon. Whether the movie will be out before Tiger vs Pathaan, where Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will fight it out, or after it remains to be confirmed. Pathaan 2’s budget is now revealed and it will be grander than before.
What is Pathaan 2’s budget?
A report on KoiMoi claims that Pathaan 2 will be made on a budget of Rs. 75 crores more than the original film. Pathaan was made on a budget of Rs. 250 crores. Thus, Pathaan 2 will be made on a budget on Rs. 325 crores. The movie, mainly the action sequences, will be shot in outdoor locations. The original film had indoor action sequences for majority of the movie.

Pathaan a superhit at the Box Office
When Pathaan released at the Box Office on the Republic Day of 2023, the film earned Rs. 543.22 crores in India. The success of the film was also special because it was Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie after Zero, which released in 2018.

About Pathaan 2
Pathaan featured Deepika Padukone and John Abraham opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Whether they will reprise their roles for the sequel remains to be seen. Deepika, who is expecting her first baby with Ranveer Singh, will become a mother by September and she is likely to take a maternity leave. Thus, the actress might not reprise her role of Rubina. Meanwhile, John, who played the role of Jim, might or might not be dead. The sequel will reveal the same. Meanwhile, Jim will make his appearance in Hrithik Roshan-Jr. NTR-Kiara Advani’s War 2, helmed by Ayan Mukerji.
Apart from War, War 2, Pathaan and Pathaan 2, the YRF Spy Universe consists of movies like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and Tiger 3. Tiger vs Pathaan has also been announced and will be the biggest release, when it does release.
