Shahid Kapoor's web series debut Farzi is finally returning with its much-anticipated sequel after producing an enthralling first season in 2023. Raj and DK, a lauded directing combination, delivered a high-octane thriller Prime Video series that kept audiences on the tip of their seats with its suspenseful cliffhanger and polished storytelling. Production on Farzi 2 will formally begin in December 2025, with an expected premiere in the middle of 2026.
Raj & DK prioritise Rakht Bramhand before moving to Farzi 2
Though they are well into their giant series, Rakht Bramhand, Raj and DK have reportedly started preliminary discussions for a Farzi sequel. A source informed Pinkvilla that Rakht Bramhand is currently occupying the time of Raj and DK. They will move on to pre-production of Farzi 2 and have it on floors by December, once they call it a wrap.
The first season of Farzi concluded with the promise of a major showdown between the skilled con artist Sunny (Shahid) and the no-nonsense cop Michael (Vijay Sethupathi). Kay Kay Menon, portraying the terrifying antagonist Mansoor Dalal, also heavily influences the story's trajectory. This sets the scenario for an exciting confrontation in the next season.
With Shahid, Raj and DK (of Go Goa Gone fame) have met to plan the sequel's fundamental arc. According to the source, Shahid, Vijay, and Kay Kay will all square off in the Farzi sequel.

Shahid achieved a major personal milestone with the show as he dabbled in long-form storytelling for the very first time. The chemistry and tension between the main characters kept audiences engrossed throughout, and his portrayal of a clever but ethically ambiguous counterfeiter was much praised.
Shahid will soon finish working on Dinesh Vijan's Cocktail 2, a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit, and then move on to Farzi 2. While he plans a feature film to accompany his romantic comedy, rumours say that he is examining numerous scripts.
