Shahid Kapoor's web series debut gets a new title, project was earlier supposed to be a Bollywood film?

The buzz around Shahid Kapoor’s digital debut is quite high. The web series is still under works and also stars Vijay Sethupathi is a key role. Being helmed by the dynamic filmmaker duo Raj and DK, reports now suggest that project has been given a new title.

A Bollywood Hungama report claims that the web series which was earlier said to be titled Sunny has now been renamed and is called Fakes. After two super successful seasons of Family Man starring Manoj Bajpyee behind them, Raj and DK have been shooting for the web series with Shahid since the beginning of this year. The report however claims that the project has been on the minds of this director duo for some time now.

Fakes is apparently the same script on which Raj and DK wanted to work with Shahid Kapoor in 2014. They also had Nawadduin Siddiqui in mind for a key role back then but the project did not happen. While now they have managed to rope in Shahid, Nawazuddin’s role has been taken up by Vijay Sethupathi.

The shoot for the web series began in Goa and certain parts have been filmed in Mumbai as well. The project is reportedly an action thriller where Shahid will be seen doing some daredevil stunts as the protagonist. The web series will release on Amazon Prime Video upon completion.
