Shamshera: Sanjay Dutt dons a shiver-inducing look as Daroga Shuddh Singh in latest poster

After his outing in Samrat Prithviraj, Sanjay Dutt will next be seen in Yash Raj Films' Shamshera, which features Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role. The makers of the Karan Malhotra-directed film have unveiled the first look poster of Dutt from the film. The poster features the senior actor sporting a menacing look and lashing a whip while posing violently. The actor plays the main antagonist named Daroga Shuddh Singh in Shamshera.

While sharing his poster, Dutt captioned it as "Meet Daroga Shudh Singh. Tomorrow, look for him in the # ShamsheraTrailer! Only at a theatre near you can you celebrate #Shamshera with #YRF50. #RanbirKapoor | @_vaanikapoor_ | @karanmalhotra21 | @yrf."

According to Dutt, playing the antagonist is always fascinating because one gets to break the rules and bend them. The actor came to see that there are restrictions or moral bounds when he portrays the antagonist. He explained that one is capable of causing trouble and that a character created on paper can be played however they like. Dutt enjoys playing the bad guy a lot, and fortunately, audiences have so far praised his portrayals of the hero's adversary.

After the Shamshera teaser went viral, Dutt received universal acclaim for his shiver-inducing performance! Shudh Singh is a persona that you have never seen on television, he claims. The actor said his character is unquestionably bad; he is dangerous, unreliable, and will stop at nothing to cause trouble. 

Dutt was honoured that Karan Malhotra chose him to play this villain as he was developing the character. The director gave the actor free reign to create Shudh Singh, and he believed people would appreciate my efforts.

Since Kapoor had played Sanju in his last movie four years prior, Dutt was overjoyed to learn about the casting surprise in Shamshera that would pit them both against each other. Sanju vs. Sanju will therefore be on display in Shamshera, which has grown to be a highly anticipated on-screen confrontation between the two. 

Dutt added that the fact that he is competing against Kapoor, who portrayed him in Sanju, is also extremely intriguing. Thus, people are now even more interested in the on-screen rivalry between Kapoor and Dutt. 

The Khalnayak actor shared that Kapoor is a fantastic actor, but this movie gives us a fresh perspective on him. However, in this movie, he plays a man who finds his feet and looks wonderful on screen. His boyish charm is unrivalled.

Shamshera is slated for release on July 22, 2022.
