Shane Nigam set to launch own OTT channel with his debut directorial Somewhere

Malayalam actor Shane Nigam has never been afraid to experiment. The Kumbalangi Nights and Bhoothakaalam actor is now all set to foray into direction and also launch his own OTT channel.

The actor made the announcement through his social media recently, while sharing the poster of his debut directorial titled Somewhere. The short film, which is about 26 minutes long, is scripted by Shane and Fayaz NW, and revolves around four characters. Somewhere is touted to deal with magical realism.

Shane had said that the project is a collaboration among friends that he has known since his school years. Shane will also be handling the featurette’s cinematography, editing and music. The actor had recently composed, rendered and wrote the lyrics for a song in Bhoothakaalam titled Raa Thaarame. The background score of Somewhere will be composed by Prakash Alex. The actor is yet to reveal the name of his OTT platform on which the short film will premiere this year.

Meanwhile, Shane has completed shooting for Syam Sasi’s Vela, which is produced by the makers of Mammootty’s Puzhu. The actor recently told OTTplay that he plays a civil police officer in the film, which also has Sunny Wayne and Sidharth Bharathan. Vikram Vedha composer Sam CS is also part of the movie.

The actor is currently shooting for Nahas Hidayath’s RDX, which is a ‘mass’ action entertainer that also has Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav in the lead. The film, which is produced by Minnal Murali’s producers, is set to be made on a big-budget and has Shane essaying a character named Robert. Mahima Nambiar and Aima Rosmy Sebastian play the female leads in the film, which went on floors last month.

Meanwhile, Shane has also signed up for Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, which also has Shine Tom Chacko. The movie is expected to go on floors after the actor completes his prior commitments.
