Sharib Hashmi had left quite an impact when he made his Bollywood debut with Nitin Kakkar’s Filmistaan back in 2012, but the actor feels that he was not recognized till The Family Man happened to him. In the show, Sharib plays the role of JK Talpade, also known as JK.
“For years I was craving for recognition and I am glad I got it from JK,” the actor told PTI in an interview.
JK plays Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee)’s close associate and friend in the hit Amazon Prime original. While their bond was quite evident in the first season itself, the second season also tested their friendship to some extent.
Sharib agrees with the same as he shares, “The first season had set a benchmark for itself and it was an advantage for all of us. Personally, for season one, I received a lot of love but this time the reaction has been crazy. This is happening for the first time in my career. I am on cloud nine. Things are out of control. I didn’t expect it to surpass my expectations and I am feeling very emotional about it.”
Sharib had a cameo in Pratik Gandhi-starrer Scam 1992. He was also a part of Arshad Warsi’s Asur. Both the projects went on to become huge hits on OTT.
Before making his debut, the actor was an assistant director and started writing non-fiction shows for MTV and Channel V. Sharib was also a part of Cyrus Broacha’s superhit TV show MTV Bakra, which was his acting debut. He then appeared in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
