One of the biggest factors that made Shark Tank India such a beloved show in the country is definitely the charm and business savvy of its judges- the sharks. Although the show has sparked the entrepreneurial spirit of many, it seems that the sharks themselves have proven to be a source of inspiration for a number of entrepreneurs, even before the show began. One among them was Siddharth Dungarwal from Bangalore.

Siddharth pitched his fast fashion clothing brand for men, Snitch. The sharks were impressed by his brand’s outfits, as well as the entrepreneur’s impressive sales numbers and business acumen. But what struck the sharks the most was his journey.

He talked about how he started out in a small shop near his father’s jewellery store, procuring and selling factory leftovers. He spoke of how he hustled all the way through, finding solutions to the objectives that came his way.

Although Siddharth sold some very chic clothes, he came to the tank wearing a simple t-shirt bearing the name of his company. When the sharks questioned him about the same, he said that he was inspired by Aman Gupta. The boAt CMO had earlier spoken of how he used to go everywhere wearing the t-shirts of his own brand, which in itself served as a promotion of the same. Siddharth again cited Aman as one of his biggest inspiration.

The pitcher spoke of how he considered the sharks, Anupam Mittal, Aman, Peyush Bansal, Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar, as his mentors. Siddharth revealed that he reads a lot of their blogs, and most of the knowledge he had he learnt from the internet. He also cited his parents as his inspirations as well. Aman shared his own story as well, of starting boAt.

Siddharth’s original ask was Rs 1.5 cr for 0.5% equity, while the sharks countered with Rs 1.5 cr for 1.5% equity. Siddharth accepted the deal, and struck the first ever 5 shark deal in the tank this season.
