The road to becoming a successful entrepreneur is definitely not a smooth one, as the many aspiring business people in the country can attest to. The Shark Tank India stage itself has seen several stories of entrepreneurs who had to overcome a number of obstacles to get their businesses up and running. Even the sharks themselves had their own shares of struggle while breaking into the industry, and Amit Jain was one of them. The CarDekho CEO and co-founder had even gone bankrupt at one point.

Amit had started his business journey with his brother, after the duo, who were working abroad, came back to the country after his father became diagnosed with cancer. In conversation with the Indian Express, Amit had opened up about how the duo had lost a lot of money in the stock market.

The businessman revealed that the duo went bankrupt after losing more than Rs 1.5 crores in the same. But Amit was not won to waste time in mourning losses. “Of course, it was a big loss but we knew that we have hands and brains, so we will build it up again”, he declared.

In an earlier conversation with OTTplay, Amit spoke of how times of crisis can offer much more valuable lessons than success can. He said that people should learn to welcome the learning that they get along with the tough times and the downs. Even the difficulties would help entrepreneurs figure out how to achieve the business goals despite the obstacles.

He had also left a message for young entrepreneurs in the country, saying “Be perseverant. There are no shortcuts to success. You’ll fail more often. And that's called learning, but you keep on persevering”.
