Among the number of innovations that made its way onto the Shark Tank India stage, quite a few have been based in the agriculture sector. The up and coming entrepreneurs in the country seem to be putting their best foot forward in trying to figure out solutions to the problems faced by the country’s farmers, leading to some inventive solutions indeed. One such ingenious invention was featured on the latest episode of Shark Tank India season 2.

The founders of Grow It pitched their idea to the sharks, of a method of protective farming. Through the method, they would be able to help farmers reduce the consumption of fertilizers and pesticides by almost 50%, by which they would be able to double their income.

Although the duo’s pitch seemed to be impressive, the judges spared no time in picking apart the duo’s business. The main problems with the duo’s business model seemed to be in terms of their returns. A round of questioning by the judges revealed their profit margins. At one point, Peyush Bansal is seen asking the pitchers point blank if the investors would be able to make any money from the model.
